Today is the first day of school for my kidlets and sending them of to school in September makes me dream about cooler days. Reality is... it's 109 degrees Fahrenheit with the humidity... bah... gross. So here's a cooler day with a beautiful couple to make everyone feel better!
Lee & Marie-Michelle's engagement session was back in May and it's still one of my favourites from this season. They are so effortless with one another and I loved spending time with them and their lovely pup Jasmine! There was a slight bite to the air which me have all of the heart-eyes over this session right now!
Just a few more weeks until this adorable couple ties the knot over at the Windsor Club! Can't wait to celebrate with you both!
What better way to get to know one another than to hop in a car and go tromping around in another country for a couple of hours? That's what I did with Ian & Kate. They love Detroit and wanted some urban photos so even though the weather looked like I may not cooperate, we headed over the border anyways. It drizzled so we took the opportunity to stop into Detroit City Distillery for a drink. Which by the way is a great way to take the edge off before diving into a photo session. We sat, got to know one another over a drink and by the time we walked outside, the rain had stopped and they were already having fun.
We explored the Eastern Market with all of it's urban deliciousness. If you love colour, you need to scroll through their engagement photos below. It was a lot of fun. We even caught a skateboarder's ollie over a railing which turned out to be their favourite photo from the night.
I'll be blogging their romantic Sprucewood Shores Wedding in the near future so stay tuned for some juxtaposition.

Andrea & Shawn's story is a classic tale where the city girl falls head over heels for the country boy. So much so, that they bought a beautiful home in Essex County where they enjoy a quieter life, that is when their husky Kuma isn't livening up the place.
We celebrated their engagement first at the Iron Kettle B&B's second photo location in Comber, ON where a new friend was made. The loudest goat I have ever heard in my life, dear Barbara. I'm not sure who names a goat Barbara, but I've since decided it was very fitting. Not to mention hilarious. After the farm we made sure to take a trip through a wheat field. Shawn is a wheat farmer so the glowing strands commemorate a big part of their lives. Then we finished off with a little visit to see Kuma at their home and a gorgeous epic moody sky.
Andrea & Shawn are getting married this September at Viewpoint Estate Winery and I have a feeling that wedding will be making a blog debut as well.
Are you getting married in Ontario? I would love to chat more about your dreams for your day. I've been photographing weddings and engagements for 10 years now and I love it! I'm based in Windsor, Ontario but travel throughout Ontario to capture many couples' stories.

I'm a loving on this session with Natalie & Mitch. The photos are classy-romantic but also really fun and natural.
The two love birds met while Natalie was working at Telus. Mitchell came in to buy a phone and Natalie recognized him from a mutual friend. They started dating from there and then together, they moved to London, England to experience more as a couple. After traveling Europe together they are now ready to make the plunge into the next step.
At their engagement session we started off at Jackson Park, catching some of the summer blooms. Then went to Goose Bay Park for some more intimate and candid shots. We laughed a lot. It was such a great time getting to know this beautiful couple a little more. I'm really looking forward to their wedding, I know it will be a great time!
Engagement sessions are such a fun way for me to get to know the couple before their wedding day. It's kind of like a little practice run. We warm up to one another so by the time your wedding day rolls around, we're old friends! I also use it as an opportunity to learn what you like most about yourself and how the two of you jive as a couple.

As an artist and a photographer it's so important to me personally that I love what I do and that my clients feel comfortable with me. When I met Chanthorn for our consultation, she was so sweet and I knew I would love to photograph their wedding. Chanthorn and Sreang had their first date in September 2008 at Cora's, followed by a walk down at the Detroit River's Peach Fountain. Nine years later with two beautiful young boys and many stories to tell, they'll be saying their I do's this September at MacKenzie Hall.
Their engagement session was a lot of fun. We drove out to Point Pelee to capture some natural shots. A walk out on the boardwalk, complete with me getting attacked by a red winged blackbird. A photo shoot wouldn't be complete without a touch of drama haha. We then took a walk through nature and finished at the beach at sunset.
Can't wait to photograph this romantic pair at their wedding this Fall!
